I've been living in a privately rented property for the past 4 months and still have not met my landlord - nor do I have their contact details. The estate agents I rented the property through assured me I would be visited by the landlord once a month...which is yet to happen.
Is this common? My only concern is that it seems a bit negligent from my perspective. Anyone had any similar issues?
Thanks, K

Hi K,
I myself am a private tenant and am facing the same issue!! I've rented my two bed flat for 2.5 years now and have never met my landlord - nor do i have any contact details for him. I contact the estate agents when I need to and they contact the landlord on my behalf, I understand the feeling of neglect in a way, but it could be worse! Many of my friends feel suffocated by their landlords at times always checking up on them etc it would be nice however to find a balance or at least organise a visit once a month...!

P.s - Do you not have the landlords address in your tenancy agreement? might be a good idea to check!
Thanks, Jake

Yeah i've rented a few properties without ever meeting my landlord / landlady.. does make you feel a bit more trusted as a tenant when you hear about some of the overbearing and suffocating landlords that are out there!!
Pros better off how it is K

As a landlord K, I've never rented a property to anyone without either regular communication or vistis at least once a month. I do think it is extremely bad practice for landlords to "leave tenants to get on with it" and then kick up a major fuss when things go wrong. Get in touch with your estate agent and request the details of the owner! Hope that helps

Good News! Got in touch with the estate agents and have been given the landlords contact details - will be organising a meet sometime next week!
Thanks Guys!

Finding support and advice as a tenant needs to be better / more easily accessed firstly, too many rogues and profit chasers in the sector + and its difficult to find anything substantial.

Totally agree with this. The amount of time i could've saved that I've had to spend tirelessly searching for information is ****!
